PrintFlow Privacy Policy
PrintFlow is an app for printing, scanning and making printable pages on Android. It is provided by Eoin Moore, 136 Parnell Road, Dublin 12, Ireland ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and the choices you have. Contact: dev@reflectnightly.com.
The short version
- You don't need an account. We don't ask for your name, email or phone number.
- Your documents, photos and scans stay on your phone. PrintFlow sends them only to the printer you choose, over your own network. We never upload them to our servers or anyone else's.
- If you allow it, we collect anonymous usage statistics and crash reports to improve the app. You can turn this off at any time in Settings.
- Purchases are handled by Google Play. We never see your card or payment details.
- We don't sell your personal information.
Your files
When you choose a file, photo or scan, PrintFlow makes a private working copy inside the app's own storage on your phone so it can show a preview and prepare it for printing. The file is sent only to the printer you select, directly over your Wi-Fi or local network. Prepared copies stay on your phone until you remove them (Settings › Files and privacy) or uninstall the app. Scanning, including edge detection, happens on your phone using Google's ML Kit; images are not sent to Google for this.
ID photos
When you make an ID or passport photo, PrintFlow keeps a copy of the photo you choose or take inside the app's own storage, so the sheet can be laid out again. The face check that suggests where to place your photo runs on your phone using Google's ML Kit; your photo is not sent to Google or to us for it. Only the most recent photo is kept. A photo or sheet leaves your phone only when you print it to your own printer or tap Share and choose where it goes.
Printers and your network
To find printers, PrintFlow looks for them on your local network and asks a printer for its capabilities (for example paper sizes and ink levels). Details of printers you use, such as their name and network address, are saved on your phone so you can print again quickly. This information stays on your phone.
Official forms
When you open an official form, PrintFlow downloads it directly from the government website that publishes it (for example irs.gov). That website receives a normal web request from your phone, including your IP address, as it would if you visited it in a browser. PrintFlow is not affiliated with any government agency.
Usage statistics and crash reports
PrintFlow uses Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. Analytics tells us how features are used (for example "a print was sent", "the scanner was opened"). Crashlytics tells us what went wrong when the app crashes. Both include device information such as model, Android version, app version, approximate country and an app-instance identifier. Neither includes the contents of your documents or anything you print or scan. A crash report can occasionally include technical details of the error, such as a file path or a printer's network address.
Whether we ask first depends on where you are. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google's consent form (shown through AdMob) asks you before anything is collected, and your answers decide what we may collect. Elsewhere we don't ask, and usage statistics and crash reports are on by default. Until we know which applies, nothing is collected. Wherever you are, you can turn this off in Settings › "Share usage and crash reports", and you can change your consent choices in Settings at any time.
Ads
PrintFlow may offer an optional rewarded ad, for example watching a short ad to use a Pro feature once. These ads are provided by Google AdMob. Google may use device identifiers (such as the advertising ID), approximate location and information about your interaction with the ad to show, measure and, where you allow it, personalise ads. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland we ask for your consent first. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's Google settings. Ads are never required to print.
Purchases
PrintFlow Pro and the one-time ID photo unlock are sold through Google Play. Google processes the payment; we never receive your payment details. We use RevenueCat to check that a purchase is valid and to restore it on your other devices. RevenueCat receives the purchase record from Google Play (product, dates, status and a purchase token) and an anonymous identifier created by the app. It does not receive your name or email from us. If you allow usage statistics, the anonymous Firebase app-instance identifier is also sent to RevenueCat so subscription events can be linked to our analytics and we can measure which features lead to purchases. Once sent, RevenueCat keeps that identifier with your purchase record. Turning usage statistics off stops new data being collected, but it does not remove an identifier already sent to RevenueCat. To ask RevenueCat to delete it, email dev@reflectnightly.com.
Service providers
| Provider | What for | Their policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google (Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics) | Usage statistics and crash reports, with consent | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Google (AdMob, consent tool) | Optional rewarded ads; asking for consent | How Google uses data from partner apps |
| Google Play | Payments and subscriptions | policies.google.com/privacy |
| RevenueCat | Checking and restoring purchases | revenuecat.com/privacy |
These providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under their own safeguards (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses).
Legal bases (EEA and UK)
We rely on your consent for usage statistics, crash reports and ads, and on performing our contract with you to provide purchases and restore them. You can withdraw consent at any time in Settings. Withdrawing stops future collection; it does not delete data already collected, or identifiers already sent to RevenueCat as described above.
How long we keep information
Files and printer details stay on your phone until you delete them or uninstall the app. Firebase keeps analytics data for up to 14 months and crash reports for up to 90 days. RevenueCat keeps purchase records for as long as needed to provide and restore your purchases and to meet legal and tax obligations.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict its use. Because we don't know who you are, the easiest way to delete everything the app holds is to clear the app's data or uninstall it. For anything held by our providers, email dev@reflectnightly.com and we'll help as far as we can. You can also complain to your local data protection authority (in Ireland, the Data Protection Commission).
Children
PrintFlow is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country) and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
